Loco was founded by a group of friends with a passion for coffee and a deep yearning to promote locally sourced beans. We intend to start with coffee from Panay Island and eventually, hope to be able to source and promote beans from all over the Philippines.
Loco aims to serve locally sourced, delicious and affordable coffee while empowering local farmers. We hope to be able to create a sustainable social enterprise that allows consumers to enjoy coffee at a fair price, and in the process, continually sell enough to be able to support local farmers.
Loco goes out of its way to meet farmers bypassed by big companies. These are the small family-owned farms whose yield cannot hope to compete with the volume produced by the more affluent growers. We make an effort to get to know these farmers, and strengthen ties with them by meeting their families, knowing their stories and the challenges they face in growing, harvesting and processing the coffee. Through this, we hope to be able to work with the farmers in addressing their problems, and be able to improve the quality and yield of their produce.
Loco’s flagship product is Cold Brew Coffee—it undergoes a process that does not expose the beans to heat, making it less acidic and sweeter.
